Requirements for running Pega Robotic Automation

This topic shows the minimum and recommended hardware and software configurations to run Pega Robotic Automation version 22.1.

Hardware requirements

  • Windows Server 2019 (64-bit, version 1809)

Other applicationsPega Robotic Automation requires the following applications:
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2019 Redistributable (x86)
  • Microsoft Visual C++ 2015 - 2019 Redistributable (x64)

Note: All of these applications are included with the installer or supported operating systems.

Pega applications

Pega Robotic Automation requires the following Pega applications:

  • Pega Native Foundation 10.1.32.2102 or later
  • Pega Browser Extension (PBE) 3.1.3 or later (required to create or run automations in Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, or Internet Explorer)
  • Pega RPA Service 3.1.26 or later
  • Pega Synchronization Server 3.1.19 or later
  • Pega Synchronization Engine 3.1.24 or later

Note: Pega Synchronization Server is contained in the ServerInstall_v22.zip file. Pega Synchronization Engine is part of the Pega Robot Runtime ZIP file. The rest of these Pega applications are contained in both Pega Robot Studio and Pega Robot Runtime ZIP installation files.

Performance considerations

Overall performance depends on the hardware configuration of the computer and the demands of the applications running on it.

The more applications that you have running, the more memory and processing capability your system requires. Determine the exact demands for Robot Runtime after your Pega Robotic Automation solutions have been created and implemented.

These hardware requirements reflect the minimum amount of memory, disk space, and processor required to run Robot Runtime. With more memory and a faster processor, you achieve better performance.

Note: Run all applications that you integrate using Robot Studio at the same integrity level. The sole exception is that this version of the system supports Internet Explorer protected mode.

Hardware acceleration settings

On some virtual machines, enabling hardware acceleration for graphics causes an issue. If the application menus are not visible, disable hardware acceleration and restart Robot Studio.

Security protocols

Pega Robotic Automation supports TLS 1.1 and 1.2.
