Setting up pass-through authentication on a Citrix client

Updated on September 19, 2022

After you set up pass-through authentication for your Citrix server, enable pass-through authentication for the Citrix client to complete the setup.

Before you begin: Download the Citrix Workspace app from Citrix, and then install the Citrix Workspace app from the command line with the includeSSON argument. The following is an example: ..\CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe" /includeSSON.
  1. Locate the Citrix Workspace app installation program (CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe).
  2. Double-click the CitrixWorkspaceApp.exe file to launch the installer.
  3. In the Welcome to Citrix Workspace dialog box, click Start.
  4. In the License Agreement dialog box, review and accept the license agreement. Then click Next.
  5. In the Enable Single Sign-on dialog box, select Enable single sign-on, and then click Next.
  6. In the App protection dialog box, click Install.
  7. In the Installation successful dialog box, click Finish.
  8. Close the command-line window.
What to do next: Verify that the single sign-on process configuration is correct.

Verifying the single sign-on configuration

Ensure that single sign-on (SSO) works correctly by using the Citrix single sign-on checker.

  1. On the Windows taskbar, right-click the Citrix Workspace icon, and then click Advanced Preferences.
