String expressions

The String Expression component lets you add standard string functions to a solution such as concatenation between two string inputs.

When you place the String Expression component on an automation, a design block containing input for the initiating event and output result are contained within the block, along with an entry field for you to specify the expression. Expressions of undefined and defined String Expression blocks are shown here:

Complete the expression by typing a string expression to evaluate.

Expression

The string expression to perform. Samples of supported string expressions are:

  • Concatenate two dynamics: a+b
  • Concatenate a dynamic and a fixed a + "mystring".
ValidDisplays a value of True or False indicating whether the syntax of the expression is accepted by Studio.
