Using the Actions menu in a paused recording
The Actions menu is available when you click Stop to pause recording. The Actions menu allows you to move recorded steps to a current or new automation, to delete a recorded section, or to restart included applications.
- While recording, select the Stop button in the Recording assistant to pause your recording.
- Click the Actions menu.
Result: The Actions menu displays, as shown in the following figure: Actions menu - Using the Actions menu, you can move or delete
highlighted steps, export steps to Microsoft Word, or restart the
application.
Choose To Move selected steps to current automation Moves the highlighted steps to the current automation. Move selected steps to new automation Creates a new automation in the project for the highlighted steps. Delete selected Deletes the highlighted steps in the automation. Export to Word Opens Word and creates a document with the recorded steps captured in text and screen images. Restart applications Restart all applications that are associated with the current automation. - To highlight steps, click with your mouse.
- Use Shift-Click to select a contiguous range of steps.
- Use Ctrl-Click to select multiple non-contiguous steps.
- To resume recording, click the Record button.
- When you're done, click the Finish Recording button.
Result: Recorded steps are added to the Automation Surface as design blocks.
