Creating a template for automations

Updated on August 17, 2020

You can create templates from automations that are self-contained to make the subsequent creation of similar automations simpler. A self-contained automation has no references to objects that are external to that automation.

  1. In the Solution Explorer, right-click an automation, and then select Create Template
  2. At the prompt, enter a name for the template.

Automation templates are stored in the Templates folder at %appdata%\Pegasystems, and you can copy them to other machines from that location.

You can select a template when you add an automation in the New Project Wizard.

For more information, see Using the New Project Wizard.
