Robotic Automation WebInterface Property Manager utility

Updated on September 10, 2021

Use the WebInterface Property Manager utility to write property values to an external properties file that Pega® Robotic Automation Runtime can read. Use this properties file to pass unique values to Robotic Automation Runtime, such as user names and passwords. The properties file also allows you to change values without redeploying the solution.

For example, if you have multiple robots that log in to the same Citrix server, but have different credentials, you can use this utility to pass such values. You can also use this utility to switch between the development and production versions of a solution.

Creating a properties file

  1. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the Robotic Automation install folder.
  2. In the Windows File Explorer address bar, enter cmd. Windows opens a command prompt with the install folder as the directory.
  3. In the command prompt, enter the following command: OpenSpan.Connectors.Citrix.WebInterfacePropertyManager.exe.
  4. Complete the fields on the utility window and then click Save As. The values in the General section pertain to connecting a Citrix server by using Citrix Web Interface or Netscaler. Here is an example of what you would enter in the Published App Name field: Prod\Pega\OpenSpanRuntime.
  5. If you want to display a window that allows you to view and debug the connection process, click the Show Navigation UI field in Citrix Web Interface environments. To hide the window, clear the option.
  6. Assign a name to the properties file and click Save.

Editing a properties file

  1. Open Windows File Explorer and go to the folder that contains the properties file.
  2. In the Windows File Explorer address bar, enter cmd.
  3. In the command prompt, enter the following command: OpenSpan.Connectors.Citrix.WebInterfacePropertyManager.exe
  4. Click Open File.
  5. Go to the folder that contains the properties file and select the file.
  6. Edit the fields on the utility window and then click Save As.
  7. Assign a name to the properties file and click Save.
Note: The system encrypts the values in the User Name and Password fields by using Windows DPAPI. For more information, see Encryption settings for Pega Robotic Automation.
