Managing duplicate leads

Updated on May 10, 2021

Enable lead de-duplication to prevent duplication of leads in your system. Sales representatives and sales operations users can review the potential duplicates and merge them with other leads. Identifying and preventing duplicate leads reduces system load and helps in better forecasting.

Pega Sales Automation Implementation Guide

Pega Sales Automation uses Pega Platform case match rules for lead de-duplication.

You configure lead de-duplication by enabling and defining various settings in the user portal and in Dev Studio. Based on your configuration, the system detects duplicate leads and flags them in the following ways:

  • The Leads landing page displays a checkbox to filter for leads with potential duplicates.
  • When a lead that has a potential duplicate is open, the system displays a warning that the lead is a potential duplicate.
  • When a user tries to manually create a lead that matches an existing lead, or edit a lead to match an existing lead, the system displays a warning in the New Individual Lead or New Business Lead dialog box.
  • When a user bulk imports leads using the data import wizard, if the system detects duplicate leads, it displays an error during the import validation process.
