Claims search
Smart Claims Engine provides a way for you to search for existing claims. From the left panel, click Claims > Claims search.
The claims search screen offers a variety of search criteria on the left side of the screen. You can also click “Show more fields” to display additional search criteria.
Search criteria | Description |
ICN | Enter from 10-18 characters to search for a specific ICN. No wild cards allowed. |
Billing provider | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the provider name, internal ID, or tax identification number. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
Subscriber | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the subscriber name or ID. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
Patient | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the patient name or ID. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
Type | Choose one or more claim types (Professional, Institutional, Dental, Predetermination). |
Status | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering claim statuses. |
Service from | Enter or use the date picker to select a Service from date. |
Service to | Enter or use the date picker to select a Service to date. |
Submission date | Enter or use the date picker to select a Submission date. |
Rendering provider NPI | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the provider name or NPI. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
Plan ID | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the Plan ID. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
Contract ID | Enter a wild card (*) to return ALL results or begin entering the Contract ID. SCE will display possible matches as they are identified. |
When the search criteria field displays a small triangle, autocomplete is enabled to find matches to the criteria entered in that field.
Opening a claimYou can sort each column alphabetically, numerically, or by date and in ascending or descending order by clicking on the column header. You can also filter the returned results and search the text within the results column.
Once the results appear, you can open a claim by clicking on the desired claim row.
Claims search results configurationYou have the option to configure the search result columns that are displayed and to order those columns from left to right. Once you configure the claim search results display, that configuration will persist until you change it. This allows you to see the search results most important to you.
To configure the claim search results, first conduct a claims search. When the results are displayed, a gear icon will appear at the top right of the screen. Clicking this icon will open the claims table columns modal. The claims table columns modal allows you to choose up to 8 columns to display claim search results. The icons on the left of the column name allow you to click and drag the columns to order the columns displayed from left to right.
