Notifications

Updated on August 31, 2021

Smart Claims Engine allows you to create and display notifications in the user portals. The Notifications screen displays previously created notifications and lets you add or delete notifications.

Each notification includes:

  • Start date: the date the message will begin to display
  • End date: the last date the message will be displayed
  • Message: a message (text only) that users with access to notifications can view
  • Update operator: the name of the operator who created the notification; automatically captured by SCE
  • Update date: The timestamp for the initial creation or edit of the notification; automatically captured by SCE.

Notifications can be displayed in any of the portals, but notification configuration is available in the Business Analyst and Systems Manager portals.

Adding a notification

To add a notification:

  • From the left panel, click Configuration>Notification configuration.
  • On the Notifications screen, click the New notification on the top right of the screen.
  • Enter the notification start date
  • Enter the notification end date (if you want to display the notification without end, you may enter 12/31/9999)
  • Enter the notification text
  • Click Submit

The notification is displayed beginning on the indicated start date.

Deleting a notification

To delete a notification:

  • From the left panel, click Configuration>Notification configuration.
  • On the Notifications screen, locate the notification to be deleted and click the icon at the end of the row
  • A confirmation message is displayed; click Submit to confirm the deletion request
  • The notification is removed from the list.
  • An alternative to deleting the notification is to end date it; this preserves the notification on the notification screen.
