Installing the Pega Underwriting for Multinational Insurance Decision Strategy Manager application

Updated on September 13, 2021

Opportunity value helps account owners and underwriters to determine the best opportunities to pursue. Decision Strategy Manager (DSM) is required to calculate opportunity value in Pega Underwriting for Multinational Insurance.

Before you begin your configuration, ensure that the PegainsurancePACLVerify:07.31 application is installed.

To install the Pega Underwriting for Multinational Insurance DSM application, complete the following steps:

Installing the Pega Underwriting for Multinational Insurance DSM application

To install the Pega Underwriting for Multinational Insurance DSM application, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in by entering the credentials for the MNDSMAdmin operator ID.
  2. Click Designer Studio > Application > Distribution > Import.
  3. Browse for and select the PUICL_DSM_731.jar file from your distribution media, then follow the wizard instructions.

Enabling operator accounts

For the account owner and underwriters, the DSM features are not available by default because they are pointing to the Pega Underwriting for Commercial Insurance application. To use those DSM features for the multinational application, map sample account owner and sample underwriter operators to the DSM access groups.

The operations that you can perform in Pega applications are based on a user's operator role. For convenience, Pega Underwriting for Commercial Insurance includes a variety of Pega operators. However, for security purposes, they are disabled when you install this release. To log in and use the access rights of any operator in Pega Underwriting for Commercial Insurance, an application administrator must enable that operator.

For more information, see Enabling operators.
