Each warranty contract has exclusion clauses that describe items that are not covered
under the warranty. There are certain clauses indicating that a warranty is voided based
on the configured exclusions.
Review the following exclusion rules to understand the logic.
- Every warranty contract has exclusions mapped with it.
- A dealer can flag a part failure that is being claimed under warranty in the
contract due to an exclusion. The dealer selects a warranty exclusion from a Failure
reason list, which allows them to submit the warranty claim.
- At the repair line level, an individual repair line is processed as a warranty claim
- The exclusion is validated against the exclusions defined for the applicable
warranty claim unit. If there is an exclusion mapped against the warranty contract,
then an exception is shown to the assessor.
- When the warranty claim is routed to the assessor, the exclusions are displayed with
the claim details as exceptions. The assessor can approve or deny the claim based on
the provided exceptions.
