Enabling single sign-on for the Workforce Intelligence portal

Updated on June 25, 2020

Single sign-on (SSO) saves time and enhances security. You can implement SSO to automatically sign in application users who have already been authenticated by your company's configured SSO. When starting Pega Workforce Intelligence™, these users bypass the login prompt. Authentication then occurs in the background before Workforce Intelligence opens. If you want to enable SSO for the Workforce Intelligence portal, it is essential that you partner with Pega Support. Complete a request form to begin the process.

Attention: SAML 2.0 is a requirement for SSO. If your company does not support SAML 2.0, then Pega Support cannot enable SSO for the Workforce Intelligence portal.

Before you begin

Locate the XML file that details your federation metadata or obtain a download link to this file. You need to provide the file or a download link to the file when you complete the support request.

  1. Log in to My Support Portal.

  2. On the My Support Portal home page, click New request > For something I need.

  3. On the Create tab, define your request:

    1. In the Service request field, select Other.

    2. In the Short description field, enter Enable SSO for Workforce Intelligence portal.

    3. In the Application field, enter Workforce Intelligence.

    4. In the Deployment field, select Pega Cloud.

    5. In the Environment field, enter Other.

    6. In the Other URL field, enter the URL of your Workforce Intelligence instance (for example, https://xxxx.wfi.pega.com).

    7. In the Environment type field, select Production

  4. Click Continue.

  5. On the Details tab, complete one of the following steps to provide the XML file that details your federation metadata:

    • In the Describe the issue field, enter the download link to your XML file.

    • Click Add Attachments, and then upload the XML file.

  6. Click Continue.
  7. On the Communication preferences tab, review your contact information, and then make any necessary changes or additions.
  8. Click Finish.

Result: Clicking Finish sends the request to Pega Support. After a Pega Support representative reviews the request and your XML file, they might contact you to request additional information.
