Deprecated features

Updated on February 24, 2022

Learn about features deprecated in the 8.7 version of Pega Platform. Deprecated features are no longer supported and are expected to be removed in future releases.

For a comprehensive view of past deprecated features (for Pega Platform versions 8.6 and earlier), go to the Release notes archive and enter deprecated in the Search field.

HTML tags in table labels

Because of accessibility considerations, non-optimized tables now interpret all text in the label control as an ARIA label. Consequently, you can no longer pass HTML tags directly in the text field to, for example, display images. As a workaround, you can use custom CSS markup.

Preflight optimization

The preflight optimization landing page is now deprecated. The page, which you can now use to optimize the performance of legacy Theme UI-Kit applications, is expected to be removed in a future Pega Platform release.

Embedded Kafka deployments

Starting with Pega Platform version 8.7, the use of an internal Kafka database is deprecated. On-premises systems that have been updated from earlier versions of Pega Platform can continue to use Kafka in embedded mode. However, to ensure future compatibility, do not create any new environments using embedded Kafka.
