Add the security checklist to applications created before 7.3.1
Valid from Pega Version 7.3.1
The security checklist is now automatically added to applications. You can manually add the security checklist to applications that were created in earlier versions.
You can improve the security of your application by completing the tasks on the checklist.
The following task reflects the procedure on how to manually add the security checklists to Designer Studio prior to 7.3.1:
- In the header of Designer Studio, click the name of the application, and then click Definition.
- Click the Documentation tab.
- In the Application guides section, click Add guide.
- In the Application guide& field, enter pxApplicationSecurityChecklist.
- Click the Configure icon in the Available in column and select the portals (App Studio and Dev Studio) that you want to add the security checklist to.
- Click Save.
WSDL generation error prevents invocation of SOAP services
Valid from Pega Version 8.4.2
Status
A Known Issue was introduced in the 8.4.2 Pega Platform patch release, which impacts both upgrades and new installations of that version.
Description
Due to changes introduced in the SOAP functionality for the case-mismatch error in SR-D98509/INC-119725, the WSDL is being generated for SOAP services with an incorrectly-capitalized element, which prevents the service from being invoked. The element should be “name” instead of “Name”.
Workaround
Clients must perform the following workaround after they define a new SOAP connector in Pega Platform:
- To download the WSDL from Pega Platform:
- After using the SOAP Wizard (Dev Studio > Configure > Integration > Services > Service Wizard) the WSDL URL is shown at the bottom right of the Dev Studio screen.
- Click the URL to display the XML.
- Save the WSDL file to your local system.
- In the text editor of your choice, modify "Name" to "name" in every <element “name” = … > tag in the WDSL.
- Save your changes to the local file.
- To reload the WSDL into Pega Platform:
- In Dev Studio, open the Configure menu.
- Select Integration > Connectors > Create SOAP Integration.
- In the New SOAP integration wizard, select Upload WSDL from File.
- Complete the upload using the wizard prompts.
This is a design-time issue, not a run-time issue; therefore, clients only have to perform this workaround process once. Existing SOAP services should not be impacted; however, if clients modify an existing SOAP service definition by re-running the wizard, clients must reapply the workaround for Pega Platform to recognize the SOAP definition changes.
Resolution
This issue will be addressed in the Pega Platform Patch Release 8.4.3. Clients who upgrade to that version or later should not see this issue.
Flow rules not supported in IE8
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
In versions prior to 7.1.2, flow rules do not open in Internet Explorer 8 (IE8). Upgrade your system to the latest version of PRPC or access flows from another supported browser.
Supported JDBC drivers
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
Pega 7.1.1 supports Java 6 and Java 7 SDKs only. Ensure that the JDBC driver you are using supports those versions of Java. See your database installation or upgrade documentation for additional information.
Database | Java 6 | Java 7 |
---|---|---|
Oracle | ojdbc6.jar | ojdbc7.jar |
MSQL | sqljdbc4.jar | sqljdbc4.jar |
DB2 LUW | db2jcc4.jar | db2jcc4.jar |
DB2 z/OS* | db2jcc4.jar or jdb2jcc.jar** | db2jcc4.jar |
PostgreSQL | postgresql-9.1-903.jdbc4.jar*** | postgresql-9.1-903.jdbc4.jar |
* JDBC drivers are only available from the DB2 for z/OS product. Additionally, you need db2jcc_license_cisuz.jar in the same directory as db2jcc4.jar.
** The db2jcc.jar has been deprecated and may not be supported in future releases.
*** This .jar file is required for PostgreSQL version 9.1.x.
Turn off saved connections in WebLogic
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
PRPC caches connections in thread-local storage. When using a WebLogic application server, set database/savedconnections to FALSE to avoid incorrectly saved, container-managed transactions. You can make this update through JNDI settings or by adding an entry to the prconfig.xml, for example:
<env name="database/savedconnections" value="false" />
Remove JVM settings from prior installations
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
JVM memory settings defined in the setupDatabase.properties file to support a prior installation need to be removed.
Memory settings are now handled by the installation program. Duplicating these settings may cause installation or upgrade failures.
Automated Unit Testing is unavailable
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
Automated Unit Testing (AUT) is unavailable in 7.1.1 - 7.1.5.
Starting in 7.1.6, users can access AUT features from supported browser versions of IE.
Privilege required for Recent Explorer
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
Users with custom roles defined must add the pxUpdateRecents privilege to see work in the Recent Items Explorer.
Deprecated end user portals
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
The following portals are no longer be supported:
- SysAdmDD
- WorkUserDD
- WorkManagerDD
As a best practice, customize standard, supported portals rather than update your existing portals to include new features.
IE8 hangs on large imports
Valid from Pega Version 7.1.1
IE8 users may experience a hung process when running the Designer Studio > Application > Distribution > Import wizard. This issue is related to low-capacity networks and large (300+ MB) archive files.
Although the processing symbol prevents you from proceeding to the next step in the wizard, the file is still imported to the server. As a workaround, you can:
- Wait approximately eight minutes for the file to import.
- Close and restart the wizard.
- Click Next to skip the upload step.
- Select the name of your file from the list of import files.
- Complete the remaining steps in the wizard.
