Documentation updated for accents and special characters used in search

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

The "Pega search API" article has been updated to reflect that the search functionality in Pega Platform does not match accented words with unaccented. For example, searching for santé and sante will retrieve different results. In addition, Domain Specific Language (DSL) includes special characters for use when searching, for example '-', '_', '!', '@'. However, the system retrieves various results depending on the way the special characters are used in the search query. If the query contains special characters that are not escaped, the system may retrieve incorrect results. For example, not escaping the slash mark in the 25/02 query may cause the system to ignore the special character.

Documentation updated for using Custom Stored Procedure after upgrade

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6

Documentation has been updated to reflect that when upgrading an environment to Pega 8.3+, the following two prconfig/DSS settings should be removed. This is the preferred approach to use the new ID generation mechanism. Additionally, if a database sequence was previously used to generate IDs, pc_data_uniqueid should be added or updated to make sure each case type has a row defined, and that the pyLastReservedID matches the maximum of the relative database sequence value plus 1. env name="pega/sequenceid/useOldOOTBIDGenerator" value="true" or DSS: prconfig/pega/sequenceid/useoldootbidgenerator/default env name="database/databases/customUniqueIDproc" value="sppc_data_uniqueid_custom" or DSS: prconfig/database/databases/customuniqueidproc/default To keep using the old custom stored procedure, the following settings should be given either through prconfig or DSS setting (prefixed with "prconfig/"). The sppc_data_uniqueid_custom can be replaced with a custom procedure name with the same signature as the standard stored procedure. env name="pega/sequenceid/useOldOOTBIDGenerator" value="true" env name="database/databases/customUniqueIDproc" value="sppc_data_uniqueid_custom"

Repository document deletion modified for better cleanup

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

When using documents functionality, creating and uploading a document properly stored it, but deleting the document did not remove the associated files from storage. Whenever a document is created that has a file, instances Of Link-Attachment and Data-WorkAttach-File are also created. Previously, when the document was deleted, the associated instances and actual file were not deleted from the repositories but rather marked as Resolved-Withdrawn and hidden at the UI level. The system has now been updated so that when a document is deleted, the document attachment will also be deleted from all places like list, Tile, and document View, and reference instances like Link-Attachment and Data-WorkAttach-File instance will also be removed along with the actual file from the repository.

Documentation updated to clarify displaying property values for Declare Expressions

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

The documentation regarding Declare Expressions rules has been updated to clarify that declare expressions do not support displaying values of target properties in the user interface if the target property is an embedded property and if the calculation engages forward chaining. Declare expressions always display property values if the calculation uses backward chaining. During forward chaining, the system might render the UI before populating the clipboard, and the properties are not visible in the UI. To show updated values, define refresh conditions in the UI to get new values from the server when the values change.

Access Control Policy documentation updated

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6

The documentation for the ACP rule (https://community.pega.com/knowledgebase/articles/security/85/creating-access-control-policy) has been updated to clarify that these rules must be checked in for the policy change to take effect. Access control policies only work when a rule is checked in. Therefore, any changes in a checked out rule will be ignored. When changing or modifying any ABAC policy rules, the rule must be checked out, updated, saved, and checked in for the changes to take effect.
