SnapStart supports SAML2 Authentication

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

When using an HTTP Post to SnapStart into Pega using PRCustom style or PRAuth style SAML authentication, the login was looping back to the login request. Investigation showed that the Pega ACS was posting data properly back to the RelayState URL, however the login activity was not getting the SAMLResponse and simply sent a SAML Login Request again. This has been fixed by updating reqContextURI in case of SAML2 Authentication service so pyActivity=value will be passed.

SAML data pages restored after passivation

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

If login used SAML SSO, resuming the session after passivation resulted in missing or empty data pages when using an SAP integration with Pega Cloud. This was traced to a security change that modified the D_SAMLAssertionDataPage and D_SamlSsoLoginInfo data pages as readonly, causing them to not be passivated under these conditions. To resolve this, the data pages have been made editable so they will be restored as expected. This change also resolves any difficulty with SAML logoff activities in conjunction with SAP and Pega Cloud.

PackageComponent updated for use with repositories

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

Exporting a zip file created by the Component wizard to a repository resulted in an error, however the same process worked as expected when the zip file was created by the Product wizard. Investigation showed that pxPackageComponent was not kept up to date with new metadata requirements for Artifactory export. This has been resolved by modifying pxPackageComponent step 7 to set Param.ArtifactType to "component" and Param.ArtifactName to [component name]_[component version]. A privilege check has also been added to zipMoveExport.

UpgradeOnOpen updated to use property set

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

After upgrade, using the revalidate & save wizard on MapValue rules (Rule-Obj-MapValue) generated null pointer exceptions in the tracer file and rules failed with bad status. This was traced to changes made in the Java step of UpgradeOnOpen that used the getReference() method, and has been resolved by updating the UpgradeOnOpen activity in the Rule-obj-Mapvalue class to use property set.

Updated HotFix Manager for use in older versions

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

The DL logic in Hotfix Manager was changed in 8.3 to include the catalog of all framework changes. This had the unintended side effect of preventing DLs from being installed in Pega 7.3.1 and lower versions as the versions included in the catalog are not present on those systems and the validation failed. This has been resolved by revising the DL update so the system will only add all apps to the catalog for platform 7.4+ DLs.

Certificate match will use Subject Distinguished Name

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

Signature verification was failing due to the system not finding the matching root certificate for the chain. The root certificate was in the trust store, but the system found a different certificate first and that other certificate (an intermediate certificate) was not considered a valid certificate for validating the whole certificate chain. This was traced to filtering on the Issuer Distinguished Name (DN) instead of the Subject DN and was due to intermediate certificates potentially having the same Issuer as a root certificate (e.g. if that root certificate was used to create the intermediate certificate). To resolve this, an update has been made to check the Subject DN instead of Issuer DN.

Check added for backwards compatibility with Case Type when rules

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

After upgrade, the When rules present on case type rules (used for skipping stages or showing/hiding stage-wide or case-wide actions) were not executing at run time. This was traced to the introduction of the pySkipOrAllowType property in recent versions, and was only reproducible when the ApplicationRuleset was locked and after upgrade irrespective of whether the condition for when was true or false. To resolve this and enhance backwards capability, a check has been added for the SkipOrAllowType property being empty.

Data pages explicitly cleared after QP use

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.6

The Util Node was showing as Offline in the Search Landing Page, and when Jobs were submitted for execution from other Nodes the message "Detected active run with unreachable nodes" was logged. The util node, configured as a backgroundprocessing node, was running QPs; the queue size for custom QPs is 500 messages /queue items per minute, but investigation showed the requestor level and thread level data pages corresponding to the QP activities were not being cleared after use. This led to high heap memory issues that made the node unreachable, and has been resolved by adding code to explicitly remove the data pages when processing has finished.

Setting added to customize using blank Map values

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

After upgrade to from Pega 6 to Pega 8 some of the Map Value rules were not working. This was due to the handling for blank default values which was changed in Pega 7. In order to support backwards compatibility, a new 'when' rule has been added which allows customizing whether or not blank values are allowed for the Map value default columns. pyAllowBlankValues will default to "false".
