Resolved error when using IHSummary as a predictor

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.2

After configuring the adaptive model and implementing delayed learning with IHSummary as a predictor, the exception "dataflow.StageException" appeared when the strategy was executed as part of the dataflow run. This has been resolved by implementing a cache expiry of 5 minutes.

Refinements made to MarkerNode memory use

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.2

Significant memory usage can be observed when data join in strategies are missing the join conditions. E.g., when the primary source in the strategy can have up to 300 or even more propositions, the join without the join condition would perform a cartesian product with possibly up to 400 or even more records returned. This may cause performance degradation. To guard against this, an update has been made that seeks to prevent repetitive markers being accumulated under a MarkerNode while trying not to rely on any implementation of equality and hashCode for individual marker implementations.

Report name in tab uses localization

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

After creating a field value with field name as pyCaption to localize the report definition name, the title in the report definition tab was not translated. This was traced to Step 1 of the activity displayReport using an old localization function, and has been resolved by changing the localization of document title to use pyCaption.

HandleResponses updated for use with optimized campaign

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

After updating from Pega 8.4, responses were not processed in the pxHandleResponses Data flow if the "pyCampaignOptimization" flag was set to true. This was traced to a missed use case for an optimized campaign, and has been resolved by modifying the condition in HandleResponses.

SR-D88419 · Issue 557945

Corrected date formatting for use as a custom filter

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.2

Given a Report Definition with custom filter section, when the custom filter section had a date property which was used under filters, the filter was not shown as a date. The date was shown properly when the custom filter section was not used. This was related to the date conversion for the locale, and has been resolved by modifying the RRFilters_Logic to remove a check for dates ending in GMT and replace it with a check whether the report uses a custom filter section. This runs the correct logic to render the date as expected.

Handling added for runs using Completed state

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.2

After upgrade, creating a data flow rule and the batch Data flow run using the Dataflow-Execute method in the activity resulted in the exception "Could not start run DataFlowRunConfig" when executing. This was a missed use case in the new architecture of data flow engine introduced in 8.4, causing DataFlow-Execute to not work properly for existing runs in COMPLETED state. This has been resolved with the addition of a branch of execution in DataFlow-Execute.Start to correctly handle completed runs.

Extra 'when' check added to visibility of Sort by and Summarize

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4.2

When changing filter and sort options while viewing a report, two edit filter pop-ups displayed. Neither would close, and further changes to filter options were blocked. The tracer showed that the pzDisplaySummarizeAndSortBy 'when' condition was True, allowing the Sort by drop down to be visible, causing pzReportConfigSections to create the two popups which then caused issues during the on change action. To correct this, an additional check has been added to the 'when' rule for the Visibility of Sort by and Summarize by so that it does not show any longer.

Value Finder updated for use with external Cassandra nodes

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

Attempting to use the Value Finder feature resulted in the error "Running Simulation is not possible because the required services are not available. Contact your System Administrator to enable the data flow and decisioning data store services." Analysis traced this to a check which identifies whether there is more than one internal node available for CDH/ DSS node. Since there were only external nodes available in this scenario and no internal nodes, the method returned false and returned the error when the CDH / VF page was launched. To resolve this, the check has been modified to allow for external Cassandra.

Special characters escaped for use in "is in List" lookups

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

After creating a specific criterion on any proposition using a string property, the "Is In List" operator, and a customer list with one value containing a "$", clicking save or check in resulted in the exception error "Problem invoking function: pega_decisionengine_propositionfilterfua.pzPropositionFilterMethodBody--(PublicAPI,ClipboardPage) java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal group reference at java.util.regex.Matcher.appendReplacement(Matcher.java:857) ". This has been resolved by escaping regular expression control characters in string replacement, which will allow the use of characters such as the $ sign for "is in List" lookups.

Server node cache refresh will use remote execution timeout

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

A campaign was failing due to VBD remote ping timeout with a stacktrace that indicated a StageException. Investigation showed that when the cluster is heavily loaded, calls to the remote execution API could time out. If this occurred when the VBD client was refreshing its cache of VBD server nodes, then the insert failed and the error was propagated up the calling data flow. To resolve this, the system will use the remote execution timeout when refreshing node cache, extend the timeout to 60 seconds, and ensure timeouts are retried during inserts.
