FlowAction HelpText retained on refresh

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

When a FlowAction configured with HTML was rendered on UI, reloading made the HelpText disappear. Flow action help icon is displayed using pzActionHelp control, which uses the Task Index parameter to determine whether to show the help icon or not. Investigation showed that when pyCaseActionAreaHeader was getting refreshed, this parameter was missed. To resolve this, the pzActionHelp control has been modified to fetch the correct action and index which will be used in displaying the flow action help.

Upload with "Select File" works in IE

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

When using IE, uploading a document was failing on the first try when using the "Select File" button. The second attempt worked as expected. This was an intended consequence of work done to enable attaching the same file after deleting it, and was related to Microsoft Internet Explorer calling an "onChange" which caused the "pzAttachFileDDFileList" section which is used to display the attachments uploaded to not be properly refreshed. This has been resolved by updating the pzMultiFilePath control handling of the success and failure of the upload function call.

Added handling for bulleted text insert triggering audit

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

When a bulleted text (copied from an email or rich text ) was used in the text area property, the audit considered it as a change even when there was no change. This was tracked to the field value 'pyHistoryMemo • ChangeTrack_Add' in @baseclass which is being used to get the localized value for audit memo: the field value accepts only 2 parameters, but the inserted text area input contained the '\t' that is used for parameter translation. To resolve this, the system will call the addMemoForSecurityChangeTracking utility method to replace all \t's present in both the Current Value and Previous value with 'empty' such that no '\t' characters are available in either of the string parameters.

pxGenerateExcelFile updated for handling blank dates

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

When using a custom template for exporting to Excel, blank DateTime property column values defaulted to the current date. To resolve this, the pxGenerateExcelFile activity has been updated to ensure that an empty date will be exported as blank and that given dates will appear in the correct datetime format.

WorkBasketGadget control updated for improved backwards compatibility

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

After upgrade, the WorkBasketGadget Control was not retrieving the work queues. This was traced to a backwards compatibility issue introduced when greater security was put in place. The control WorkBasketGadget contains a call to pzEncryptURLActionString that was introduced in 8.x versions of the platform to encrypt URLs to avoid hijacking. The content of the URL relies on the pxRequestor.pxWorkGroup property, which is resolved using pega:reference tags. This approach was working in versions below 8.x, but these tags were not resolved at runtime. To correct this, requestorWorkGroup will be resolved as string and passed as a parameter instead of using pega:reference tags.

Handling added for Japanese characters in filename during Safari file upload

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

When using the Safari browser, uploading a file containing Japanese characters resulted in an error message indicating the file was not found afterwards. This was caused by Safari not encoding the flename in the Form Data/Query String as part of the request for file upload, resulting in the filename not being decoded properly. To resolve this, a function named pzBrowserIsSafari has been added to check the browser, and if it is Safari, the system will normalize the filename.

Null check added for embedded section pyInclude tag

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

When attempting to implement a call to the Pega API casetypes endpoint, the end point /casetypes/{id} returned data for only some of the casetype IDs. For others there was no content in the response and in the logs the error "null at com.pegarules.generated.pzAPICreateJsonForGroup" was seen. This was traced to the use of an old section which did not generate the embedded section pyInclude tag. When the API was called on the same section, it tried to perform an equality check on the variable which gets the pyInclude value, and the null value caused the null-pointer exception. This has been resolved by adding a null check to cover pyInclude in an embedded section.

Reopen details correctly saved to pxResolveSummary

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

When cases were reopened using a call to the out-of-the-box Work-.Reopen activity or the Re-open work item link in the Case Tools, the changes to track the reopen in pxResolveSummary were not saved and were lost after a refresh of the case. This has been resolved by updating the ticket handling and modifying the reopenworkobject activity to set the resolve-summary details before re-opening the WO.

pxParseExcelFile activity will now parse multiple sheets

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.1

When trying to use the activity pxParseExcelFile on an Excel file containing three sheets where each sheet had a different pagelist, the properties mentioned in sheet 1 were populated on upload but the remaining sheets only showed the error message "Could not get clipboard property for reference Work Queues.". This was caused by an error in Row index handling for the additional sheets, and has been resolved by updating the logic to populate the data in the clipboard. Additional issues for this issue in 8.4 to fix issues like formulae not getting evaluated and $ not parsed: 501592, 501383

Case history filter added for manual instantiation of Child Case

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.1

After upgrade from v7.4 to v8.3, creating any child case from a parent case unexpectedly added the audit history "Child case xxxxx has been manually instantiated" to the parent case. In order to make this customizable, an "isHistoryAvailable" function has been added in the 'when' condition of "AddCoveredWork" Activity's "History-Add" Step. This will use the FilterHistory decision tree, which now has a setting for "ChildCaseInsAudit" to control whether or not the manual Instantiation of a Child Case will appear in the case history. The default is "true"; setting it to "false" will suppress the message.
