Oracle handling updated for primary key in upgrade DDL

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

Previously, when a primary key of a table was created Oracle would automatically create a unique index with the same name as the primary key. However, with the introduction of Oracle 19, an optimization was added which will not do that if there is another unique index on the table which contains the column(s) of the primary key. This difference can cause updates to fail with the error "cannot drop index used for enforcement of unique/primary key". This has been resolved by updating the handling for primary key constraint and the corresponding index name.

Stream XML generation and runtime handling enhanced for optional nodes in schema

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.8

When a stream rule was executed using connect-SOAP and blank data was passed from the UI, a tag corresponding to the XML element marked as optional was being generated. This resulted in those optional properties being unexpectedly created in source systems. To change this, the generation of the Stream XML rule has been enhanced such that at runtime it ignores optional nodes/attributes mapped to properties which do not exist or which have an empty value. NOTE: this new behavior in Stream XML rule generation is effective only with the below DSS configuration (to avoid backward compatibility issues ): Owning Ruleset : Pega-IntegrationEngine Purpose : StreamXML/DetectEmptyProperties Value : true

Corrected Connect-Java ability to run in parallel

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.7

Using connect-java in RunInParallel mode was failing with the error "couldn't resolve the required java object". This was found to be an error in copying objects from the primary page in RunInParallel mode that did not properly retain the references for the Java wrapper objects. There was a workaround to use the "If possible, use a valid object handle" option, but this error has been fixed.

Query added to find time zone for MSSQL database

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

The exception "com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerException: xp_regread() returned error 5, 'Access is denied.'" was generated when the AES agent PushDBSizeInfo was being run. This was traced to the GetDBInfo activity trying to retrieve the time zone of the MSSQL database by executing a query that used a Microsoft SQL routine to read the windows registry to get the current time zone. The error was not due to security within the SQL Server, but instead was caused by Microsoft Windows security related to the permissions on the registry keys for the users under which specific SQL Server processes were running. To resolve this, an update has been made to call a different query which will get the time zone for the SQL Server.

SortPageList method updated for Obj-Sort

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

Sorting page lists backed by a node level datapage using Obj-Sort was causing a ConcurrentModificationException. This has been resolved by updating the SorterImpl.sortPageList method to use java7CollectionsSort instead of collectionsSortWithInferenceEngineDisabled.

SR-108346 · Issue 166436

Corrected purging for History and Attachments

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.7

A problem was found with purging the History and Attachments for cover and folder items. This was traced to history tables using datetime columns as key properties: many databases round these values to less precision than PRPC uses, and the keys did not match. The purgeitems function has been updated to delete the instance specifically and bypass recalculating the InsKey.

Added customization for PDF page numbers

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.7

Previously, it was not possible to designate the initial page number in the PDF generated by HTMLToPDF activity. Two parameters have been added to allow for greater customization: "header" activates page number support in the document header, and "startPage" is used to set the initial page number for the document. The "startPage" parameter can be used for both the header and footer.

BPEL rule types deprecated

Resolved in Pega Version 7.1.8

BPEL is a flow format that makes SOAP calls to other systems. Previously, Rule-Connect-BPEL and Rule-Service-BPEL were supported types not as callable rules, but as summaries of the rules involved with interacting with a particular BPEL flow. This usage originated before the advent of landing pages, and summarized the connector or service rules, respectively, that were in the system for a given BPEL-related service package. It has been found that the BPEL-specific standard in version 1.1 and higher does not carry enough information in its schema to do an import and requires limitations and post-import work to make the flows usable. In addition, BPEL import was supported only with Visio. In Pega 7 there is no Visio view for flows, so these flows cannot be viewed or edited. Therefore the following rule types have been deprecated as of this release: -------------------------------------------------- Form Hierarchy Service COM Service BPEL+D249 Connect BPEL Parse Transform Parse Transform Collection Parse Infer Attempting to use these rule types will present the following messages: -- Service BPEL: "The rule type Service BPEL is deprecated and should no longer be used. Please use Service SOAP instead." -- Connect BPEL: "The rule type Connect BPEL is deprecated and should no longer be used. Please use Connect SOAP instead."
