Additional validation added for administrator role name in current application

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2

When running an extract rule from designer studio, the when rule "hasadminrole" was getting called to check if the user has the "pegarules:sysadmin4" role. After upgrade, this when rule was returning false if "pegarules:sysadmin4" was defined in 'manage dependent roles', requiring the role to then be entered manually. This was traced to a condition where the BIX extract was being run from a CS application that did not have any access role with the current application name :Administrator, but instead used the access role name :SysAdm4, . To resolve this, an additional condition has been added to validate whether the current application has an access role with name "current application name:SysAdm4" in their access group to run BIX extract.

Obj-Browse will retrieve more than 50 records

Resolved in Pega Version 8.1.8

After performing multiple skims, a newly added property was not retrieved when an Obj-Browse was performed. In Obj-Browse action, when a class is mapped to an external table and does not contain BLOB column pzpvstream, in a specific case where pxObjClass value is a reference to a parameter, a list of properties mapped to the class explicitly by querying pr4_rule_property table using NativeSQL is fetched. This call by default returns only 50 records: in cases where there are more than 50 properties for an external class, some of the properties from the obj-browse response mapping are therefore missed. To resolve this, the limit of 50 records has been removed from this NativeSQL call.

Placeholder value display made customizable

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

The default place holder value (123,456.78) was displayed for the integer controls even when the placeholder was set to None. This has been resolved by modifying the code to allow customization of the place holder value display. If the "Display value using read-only formatting" option present under editable format is selected and the desire is to show default placeholder for numeric fields, "showDefaultPlaceholderForNumber" with owning ruleset as "Pega-UIEngine" must be created and set to true. If "Display value using read-only formatting" is selected and the default placeholder should not be shown in numeric fields, the DSS should be set to false.

Fixed dropdown value reset on Microsoft Edge 41 browser

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2

When using the Microso9ft Edge 41 browser, any value selected in a dropdown was getting reset to the placeholder. Also, if there was a dropdown with required validation, then after the selection was made a reset happened and fired a validation message. This was traced to the selectedIndex of dropdown not getting updated properly in Edge if the option was added dynamically with selected attribute, and has been fixed by setting selectedIndex to dropdown in constructOptions function of pzpega_ui_dropdown.js.

Fixed retrieval of attached emails on cases with Japanese characters

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2

When using the "Send Email" shape on a case life cycle where the case type had Japanese characters, the mail was created and attached into the work object as expected, but an error was generated while trying to open the attached mail from the work object indicating "not found in database or insufficient privilege". This was due to the InsHandle being double-encoded, and has been resolved by avoiding encoding during assembly.

Decimal parameters retain null value instead of being set to 0

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

When mapping any data in 8.6+, if the source is a decimal property rule and the target is a parameter defined as decimal, the decimal parameter's value will be 0 if the source property is null. This was a behavior change from previous versions of Pega where the target parameter would be null. This has been resolved by changing the code generation for the read operation on the parameter decimal type assignment to use resolveToString() instead of calling resolveToBigDecimal() so a null value is retained.

Modified batch requestor handling to ensure cleanup

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

A large buildup of batch requestors was seen, and restarting the node did not clear it. Investigation showed that in the case of one class reading a DSS value, a Pega requestor was being created when it was unable to retrieve any Pega context, and this requestor was not cleaned up afterwards. To resolve this, an update has been made to the way the requestor and Pega context is being created along with ensuring it will be cleaned up properly after use.

Currency Code updates

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

A Section configured with an editable currency input using auto-formatting failed to render at runtime if configured using Type -> Number, Symbol -> Currency, Other currency, and Currency -> "USD". The error "Invalid Locale : USD" was logged. This was an unintended side effect of work done to configure currency codes for the Number control, and has been resolved by accounting for the locale settings and handling the condition for the error "Invalid local-USD" so that the the UI rendering appears as expected. In addition, when the Currency control was configured with editable mode "Editable" and "Display value using read-only formatting" checked, read-only formatting generation did not happen for the control. Entering a value and tabbing out caused the ReloadCell activity to return empty content, which resulted in the server returning full HTML markup with a message "Operation Successful". Because the ReloadCell activity handler expected only control markup with formatted value to be returned, the HTML markup containing inline CSS styles in it appeared in the Currency input field on tab out. There was a workaround of unchecking "Display value using read-only formatting" on the control's presentation tab, but this has been resolved by using Post value infrastructure to get the formatted value from the server.
