Save works on Ajax container without Dynamic container

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

After opening a work object and making changes to a required field, pressing the save button did not give any visual indication that the save was performed. Hitting cancel generated a dirty pop up saying changes will be discarded, indicating no save was done. When an Ajax container is configured without a Dynamic Container, all the content is rendered inside a fieldset tag instead of a form tag. While performing the save, the API was looking for the form element in the document and could not find any, and the save failed. This has been resolved by updating the submitWhenFail() API to handle both fieldset and form elements in the dom.

Conditional handling added for perceived invalid valuelist reference in design time

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

After adding a value list property '.pyDateTimeValue(2)' in a section configured in the view editor, the design time error "config issue" was shown. There were no errors at run time and the application's behavior was correct. Changing the subscript of the value list property to (1) ran without an error. In this scenario, the actual usecase configuration will populate .pyDateTimeValue(2), but the view editor believed there was an error in the section because there was no reference to pyDateTimeValue(1) first. This has been resolved by conditionally changing the pyValue to a template property in design time when a perceived invalid valuelist reference is provided as property in the panel.

Asynchprocessor generation code deprecated from distribution

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

During a Pega Rules Upgrade of the environment, the error "duplicate key value violates unique constraint "pr_data_admin_pk" was observed. This exception originated from the "Upgrade Context" target while executing a query to fetch the missing ASYNCPROCESSOR requestors for all available system names, and was caused by the system attempting to insert a single ASYNCPROCESSOR requestor more that once in the shared layer. The need to generate missing requestors only applied for installations where a custom system name was provided to the deployment properties (setupDatabase), so by default the asyncprocessor generation code has been removed from the distribution as it is no longer required for upgrades. Default system behavior now is to use system-runtime-context in place of async requestors.

Index table correctly populates after migration

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

After creating a product file with work instances, only some records were populating in the index-workpartyuri class through index rule. Investigation showed that if the IDs specified for the Work Range started with the same digits as were seen after the case prefix (e.g. W-1, W-1000, or W-22, W-2201) then only the indexes for cases that start with W-1 or W-22 were included in the export. This was traced to a step in AddPartyIndexWhenCondition where the EstimatedWorkPrefix local variable was calculated: the java step extracted anything that was the same from the start of the To and From range without taking into account the possibility that some digit characters after the "-" could be the same. To improve the accuracy of the prefix estimation, "-\d" will be used to make an educated guess.

BAC handling added for calling StartNewFlow activity from UI

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

After modifying the pycaseactionarea submit button to call a flow that uploads a PDF to a third party system using the order action 1) Finish Assignment; 2) Call an activity and inside the activity call startflow to initiate the integration; and 3) Launch local action, clicking the button to finish the assignment showed only the first local action instead of the expected behavior of having a modal appear to the user to confirm that their file was successfully uploaded. An access control error also appeared. This was traced to the registration details being removed after generating the pdf with an activity running on a different thread, and has been resolved by adding a flag tools.putParamValue("skipResetQueryStringRegistration",true); in pzCreatePDFHarnessWrapper to avoid wiping the registration details and skip resetting the query string registration during the process.

Load more works in non-templatized layout

Resolved in Pega Version 8.8

After adding a repeating dynamic layout inside a tab group layout (which is a deprecated feature) to make it non-templatized, the progressive pagination option to show the "load more" button did not work. This was caused by the load more functionality having a dependency on pega.ui.RDL even though pega.ui.RDL was not available in case of a non-templatized grid, with the result of generating an exception which broke the flow. This has been resolved by adding a null check which will allow the flow to proceed whether the grid is used inside non-auto-generated or auto-generated elements. Please note that it is strongly recommend to update any deprecated layouts to Layout Group as it is a best practice to keep the code updated to avoid any compatibility issues.

External Cassandra nodes listed in DDS cluster

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

Nodes of an external Cassandra cluster were not listed in the DDS cluster except for the first one in the host list, and when the “only” listed Cassandra node was restarted, the status on the DDS cluster LP did not become “NORMAL” afterwards. In addition, even though other C* nodes were up and running, the external Cassandra cluster was reported as unreachable. This was an unintended side effect of work done on the landing page to reflect the real state of the nodes after some were killed and restarted, and has been corrected by refining the equals() and hashCode() methods for DDS member info in order to better differentiate the external Cassandra nodes.

Uploaded attachments will receive a unique name to prevent overwriting

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

An issue with an incorrect file being attached to a work object was traced to overlapping processes. When files are uploaded, they are first saved to common HDD directory and then read into memory and deleted from the HDD area. Files will overwrite other file carrying the same name, which is a problem if the first file is not completely uploaded and is waiting in the common directory and some other file with the same name is uploaded on top of it. To resolve this, an update has been made to ensure file names are appended with a unique identifier to distinguish between files carrying the same names and keep them from overwriting each other.

Discard changes dialog now showing for local actions

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

After having modified case data without saving and clicking on a menu entry (left menu, search, ...), the system shows a dialog box to ask the user to confirm it is ok to discard changes. However, this confirmation dialog did not work with local actions, leading users to lose their work without any warning nor any way to step back. This was traced to a difference in the dirty form check, which was not present when launching a local action from a case. An enhancement has now been added to the handleMenuAction js function in pypega_ui_harnessactions.js which will perform a dirty form check with a prompt.
