Queue processor correctly moves items to Broken Items

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6.1

When an exception occurred while Queue Processor processed an item, he queue item was not moved to Broken Items. The error " inconsistent datatypes: expected - got CLOB DatabaseException caused by prior exception" was generated. This has been resolved by modifying the NativeSQL builder and NativeSQLBatchExecutor to allow the batch of queries to be retried. Additional changes were also added for Oracle databases to identify the correct column types.

Jobs restart after system failure

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6.1

Several key standard CLUSTER type jobs were left in disabled state after a performance break test with rolling restart of the nodes. This was traced to prevention code that was originally intended to disallow stopping the scripts, but had an unexpected result after a system failure when the request to restart the standard pzDelayedQueueProcessorSchedule was rejected if the check of the job name matched the deny list. This has been resolved by removing the preventative code.

ServicePackage threads properly released

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6.1

After completing a system stress test, the requestor pool threads for the ServicePackage were not released. Investigation showed that the threads were waiting for Data Pages to be loaded in the background even though there was no background job corresponding to those data pages in the Async Services pool. This has been resolved by making an update to avoid removing the object handlers when the load-datapage finds that an entry exists with a NOT_STARTED state.

VBD insert process updated for better retry handling

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

When restarting Data Flow and VBD nodes, the VBD client can encounter some exceptions indicating components in the stack are temporarily unavailable. In most cases the VBD client retries, but there are some cases where it did not and data flow failures occurred. To resolve this, the code has been updated to remove logging of the VBD cluster status during a retry, and the retry duration has been made configurable.

SR-D38415 · Issue 507995

Resolved Transfer to Queue duplicate assignments

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

The Transfer to a Queue option was creating duplicate assignments after accepting the Chat. Once the chat was accepted, an instance was created\maintained in both Assign-Workbasket and Assign-Worklist tables. This happened after adding the "Transfers" queue to an Agent; if that queue was not added, the transfer to a queue option gave an error to the Agent receiving\accepting the chat. The Work-.ReassignDefaults activity is an extension that was customized in the Pega-DecisionManager ruleset for a certain use case in revision management. The customization is no longer required and has become redundant and has therefore been removed to resolve this issue.

Flow action list available in navigation menu

Resolved in Pega Version 8.6.1

After update, only one flow action which had highest likelihood was visible when an assignment in a flow had multiple flow actions. Alternatives were not visible in the Action menu. This was an unintended side effect of work done to simplify the Actions menu which did not consider the usecase of an alternate flow action being configured, and has been resolved by restoring the flow action list to the navigation menu in pyWorkCommonActions.

Resolved timeout errors related to getIndexInfo

Resolved in Pega Version 8.1.8

When attempting to import large files (around 300MB) via Designer Studio a time out error was seen, but the same upload worked as expected from the command line. Investigation showed that the "approximate" argument in getIndexInfo caused wasteful analytic operations to be run on the database, hampering performance. To resolve this, areas where the results of the analysis are not needed have been modified to have aApproximate set to be true so it will not be run.

SR-D68558 · Issue 536676

Timing updated for Cassandra session change thread lock

Resolved in Pega Version 8.1.8

An issue with unresponsive nodes was traced to the method used for notifications about Cassandra session changes. A thread trying to obtain a Cassandra session acquired a read lock, then if it then determined that a new session had to be created it would also acquire a write lock, preventing other nodes from trying to acquire the session. After creating a session, the thread notified all session change listeners while holding the write lock, causing deadlock with dependent services. To resolve this, the timing has been updated by moving the session change notification to the listeners outside of the section guarded by the lock.

SR-D32332 · Issue 502269

Removed unneeded table name calculation

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.4

After giving short names (less than 30 characters) for "To Table", saving did not produce an error, but an error was thrown during Check In. Investigation showed that while checking in the extract rule, a block of code in the Rule-Utility-Function validateTreeProperties was being executed to recompute the pagelist's table name instead of using the name provided by the user. To resolve this, the RUF has been modified to not execute this block of code during check-in of the extract rule. The validation will be seen during save if the 'To field' has more than 30 characters.
