Keystore update properly revises the cache

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

A keystore updated with the latest certificate was not getting reflected in the runtime and the old certificate was getting picked. In a multi-node environment when the new JKS is uploaded in one node, the changes are expected to be communicated to other nodes so that the cache can be cleaned up. In this case, investigation showed that the keystore label was in uppercase and the cache entry was not correctly removed. This has been resolved by adding an update that will convert the cache key to lowercase and maintain uniformity to ensure proper cleanup.

New email template added to include full message history

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.2

Whenever a reply was sent from the email triage case, the outbound email sent only the actual reply along with the original email and latest reply only, skipping all remaining replies from email. For example, if there were 5 replies from case, replying 5th time generated an outbound email that contained only 5th reply (actual / current), original reply (which created the service case) and the latest reply (reply 4 in this case) and skipped reply 1 and reply 2. To resolve this, a new Outlook-style template has been added for use in replies that will include all of the previous exchanges.

Logoff control for Sales Automation case worker portal updated to clear states

Resolved in Pega Version 8.1.4

After logging in to the Sales Automation case worker portal and clicking a menu item other than dashboard, the link was properly highlighted in the navigation menu and the appropriate data was loaded in the harness. However, after logging out of the application and logging again as the same user, the portal opened to the dashboard page and the previously clicked link was highlighted instead of the dashboard link in the left navigation menu. While it was possible to reset the menu state by closing the browser and starting a new session, the issue has been resolved by updating the logoff control for this portal to use the general system control_logoff which clears states on exit.

Handling added for runtime exception on upgrade due to inaccessible external schema mapping

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.3

If a system used external schema mapping, attempts to upgrade were failing with the error "Caused by: com.pega.pegarules.pub.database.ConfigurationException: Unable to obtain data source "java:comp/env/jdbc/PegaRULES", as it is undefined". This was traced to configuring external DADNs which were not accessible from the server where the upgrade was being run: an upgrade will fail if it cannot connect to an external datasource even if no changes need to be made to that datasource. However, because a PRRuntimeException was unexpectedly being thrown instead of a Database Exception, the exception was not properly caught and handled. This has been corrected.

SR-D32086 · Issue 500894

Memory leak repaired

Resolved in Pega Version 8.2.3

A server side memory leak was traced to heap utilization increasing due to a Stream control assembly problem where the CleanForReuse() function was not cleaning up pzAuto. The cleanForReuse method in generated HTML properties is used to either initialize local fields, in which case aContext will be non-null, or to clear the object for pooling, in which case aContext will be null. Because the pzAuto variable was not being properly nullified, pooled controls were retaining stale references to StreamTools, LayoutRuntime, PRThread, and others. This has been resolved by adding code to ensure the pzAuto variable is correctly nullified, and additional work has been done to improve memory management.

Handling updated for UpgradeBeforeOpening

Resolved in Pega Version 8.7

After update, an email case paused for 1 minute with a wait shape and then resumed by a ServiceLevelEvents agent seemed to lose the context (class) of the case and went into the broken processes queue with the error "Unable to open an instance using the given inputs: pxObjClass = "Work-Channel-Triage"". This was traced to an incorrect class applied by the activity OpenAndLockWork which assumed that "Work-Channel-Triage" was the preferred class and passed in the case ID as a parameter. To resolve this, pzUpgradeBeforeOpening has been updated such that it will migrate a case only if it has "WORK-CHANNEL-TRIAGE" in the work object inskey.

HTML Tags stripped from text email body

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.2

The Service Email message data section was showing HTML tags in the email message body for both 'prefer-HTML' and 'prefer-inline' where the body was missing. Investigation showed there was no default feature for segregating the markup tags and providing the plain text when ‘HTML’ format was selected in Outlook. This has been resolved by adding a Prefer: outlook.body-content-type="text" header to get the message without HTML tags.

File Listener made more resilient

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.2

When file listener encountered a FileNotFoundException as a consequence of sporadic AmazonS3Exceptions, the listener was disabled and no retries were made. In order to make the file listener more resilient, FileMatchConcentrator has been updated. While file listener is running and trying to get the next set of files, if the isDirectory() method returns false due to a non-existent directory or some other intermittent issues, instead of throwing an exception and shutting down the file listener, the system will now log the exception and continue.

Description input for new reports restricted to 64 characters

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.2

After saving a report with a description containing more than 64 characters, trying to delete the same report generated error messages saying the report description exceeds 64 characters. There was no maximum character limit set on the description input when creating/editing/save as a report. The delete modal shows any page-level warnings, so the guard rail warnings show up at that time. This has been resolved by disallowing the creation of a description greater than 64 characters in length.

Revoke Access Token check removed from OAuth Client Registration

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.2

When client credentials were implemented, the OAuth 2.0 Client Registration form was designed such that once the instance was created and a token issued, the access tokens were deleted on save. Process changes now indicate that it should be possible to save the form because it may only have History Description/Usage changes made to it and Revoke Token and Regenerate Secret buttons are already available. To address this, the Revoke Access Token check has been removed from the validate activity of Client Registration.
