Performance enhancement added to optimize evaluation of 'when' calls in GetFlowData

Resolved in Pega Version 7.3.1

A lot of when conditions triggered as part of GetFlowData out-of-the-box activity were causing slowness when the Java Step (4) did its evaluation. Current screen flow navigation would evaluate all the when rules till the end of the flow to determine the flow navigation. To improve performance, an enhancement has been added to the GetFlowData activity to prepare pyFlowData page from the pyWorkPage. This will build the pyFlowData up to the current step and ignore the future steps. It will be necessary to override the PerformDefaults to pass the new parameter loadNavigationPathForBreadCrumbOnly to GetFlowData to call this new functionality.

Third party cookies reminder added for Mashup in incognito browsers

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3.5

When working in incognito/private browser windows, attempting to use Mashup displayed a message indicating login credentials were not recognized ("Unknown password and/or username"). This was due to recent changes originating with the browsers regarding blocking third-party cookies which are necessary for Mashup to run. For informational purposes, a new API has been added which will check for the PegaRules cookie; if the cookie is not present, the message "Third party cookies must be enabled for Mashup to function." will be displayed. This message may be customized by configuring the setting "pega.web.config.xCookiesDisabled" with the required message.

Handling added for summary columns in Export to Excel

Resolved in Pega Version 8.3

When a field has an aggregate function in Report Definition, the column alias changes and is not the same as the property name. The consequence is a mismatch between the result set column name and the property name from the property list created beforehand. This results in blank fields when using the "pxDownloadDataRecordsAsCSV" activity for Export to Excel. In order to support the export of summarized columns in Report Definition, an enhancement has been added that uses the column label as an alias for aggregate fields in the native SQL builder of the exportData API to form a map between the property name and the alias name and use it while iterating over the result set.

Memory leak repaired

Resolved in Pega Version 8.4

A server side memory leak was traced to heap utilization increasing due to a Stream control assembly problem where the CleanForReuse() function was not cleaning up pzAuto. The cleanForReuse method in generated HTML properties is used to either initialize local fields, in which case aContext will be non-null, or to clear the object for pooling, in which case aContext will be null. Because the pzAuto variable was not being properly nullified, pooled controls were retaining stale references to StreamTools, LayoutRuntime, PRThread, and others. This has been resolved by adding code to ensure the pzAuto variable is correctly nullified, and additional work has been done to improve memory management.

Special characters escaped for use in "is in List" lookups

Resolved in Pega Version 8.5.4

After creating a specific criterion on any proposition using a string property, the "Is In List" operator, and a customer list with one value containing a "$", clicking save or check in resulted in the exception error "Problem invoking function: pega_decisionengine_propositionfilterfua.pzPropositionFilterMethodBody--(PublicAPI,ClipboardPage) java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Illegal group reference at java.util.regex.Matcher.appendReplacement(Matcher.java:857) ". This has been resolved by escaping regular expression control characters in string replacement, which will allow the use of characters such as the $ sign for "is in List" lookups.
