Product Configuration Framework

Updated on June 2, 2018

The Product Configuration framework enables you to define products (saleable commodities like insurance coverage and services, or material objects like furniture) in terms of standard and optional packages, components, subcomponents, and features. It provides the capability to rapidly develop, maintain, and uniquely deploy product (or service) specifications in a controlled and consistent manner.

Product definitions along with the associated eligibility and pricing rules can be packaged as the single, authoritative source for product specifications throughout the organization — defining rules for process automation, guiding application execution, and specifying manual rules and procedures. This flexible approach to product componentization and packaging promotes standardization and reuse and enables new products and packages to be rapidly defined or cloned from existing ones.
