Viewing underlying records of insights

Improve the process of data analysis by retrieving the list of records that comprise your chart-based insight. You can view all the underlying records or drill down to the specific information to get more precise data.

For example, in a sales insight, you can view all records to get a holistic overview about transactions in your company.
  1. In the navigation pane of your application, click Explore Data.
  2. In the Insights section, click the chart-based insight that you want to modify.
  3. On the right side of the insight, click Edit.
  4. View the underlying data of your insight:
    ChoicesActions
    View all records that comprise the insight
    1. In the upper-right corner of the insight, click View data.
    2. In the modal dialog box that appears, analyze the data.
    View records that comprise the specific category
    1. On the Data tab, in the Dimensions section, select the Drill to underlying records checkbox.
    2. Retrieve the list of specific data by drilling-down to the last category of records.
      For example: In a sales insight, click Electronics, and then clickNotebooks to get information about sales of notebooks.
For example: The following chart-based insight shows how to drill down to the detailed list of orders for TVs in a sample sales application.
