Granting conditional access to all users in an access group

Updated on July 1, 2021

In Access Manager, you can authorize all the users in an access group to perform work on another user's assignments.

In this example, you are a department manager working with a Purchasing application that includes a case type called Purchase Request. Operators in the ShippingReceiving access group can perform work only on Purchase Request cases assigned to them. However, you are going on vacation for two weeks, and want to authorize all the users in the access group to work on your purchase request assignments in your absence.
  1. Navigate to Access Manager: click ConfigureOrg & SecurityAccess ManagerWork & Process.
  2. Expand the Purchase Request case type and click an icon in the Perform row for a role. You can select any role.
  3. Select the appropriate Access When condition. In this example: pyAssignedToMyManager.
Result: This applies the Access When condition to all users in the ShippingReceiving access group. As long as the modified role is included in the access group (and the user is defined as reporting to you), each can perform work assignments of case type Purchase Request assigned to you.
