Property security rules

Updated on July 1, 2021

Property security rules enable you to restrict operator access to properties by privilege. To view a report that references the secured property, operators must have at least one of the privileges specified on the property security rule.

The Report Browser prevents users who lack all of the listed privileges from viewing or editing reports that reference a property that is secured with a property security rule. This includes properties that are referenced through inheritance.

At run time, the system finds the relevant property security rules by doing the following steps:

  • Filter the candidate rules based on the requestor's ruleset list.
  • If no matching rule is found in the starting class, search for candidates in ancestor classes in the class hierarchy.

Circumstances and time-based qualifications are not available for property security rules.
