Mapping authentication services in App Studio
As an administrator, configure authentication services in an application by using App Studio. This feature streamlines functionality and provides an effective and user-friendly way to configure authentication for users who are not familiar with Dev Studio.
This functionality is available in both App Studio and Dev Studio. For more information, see Mapping authentication services in Dev Studio.In App Studio, you can add a new authentication service to an application. Additionally, you can configure, copy the login URL, remove associations and disable the authentication services.
Only administrators with the pzAdvancedSecurityUser privilege can map authentication services to an application. By default, the PegaRULES:SecurityAdministrator role includes the pzAdvancedSecurityUser privilege.
Administrators with this access role can select the default authentication service or interactive screen on which user can then select an authentication service.
- If the administrator selects the default configuration, then the user is automatically redirected to the default authentication service during login.
- If the administrator selects the interactive configuration, then the system will display the authentication selector screen with mapped authentication services.
- In the navigation pane of App Studio, click .
- Click + Add authentication service.
- Select the existing authentication service that you want to map.
- Optional: To update the authentication service, click the Configure icon to the right of the new authentication service.
- Click Save.

- In the navigation pane of App Studio, click .
- Click + Add authentication service.
- In the dialog box, click Create new.
- Choose the type of authentication service that you want to create.In App Studio, you can only create Google, OIDC, and SAML 2 authentication services. To create other types of authentication service, such as a custom authentication service, you must use Dev Studio.
- In the Name field, enter a name for your authentication service.
- In the Identity Provider metadata dialog box, click the Import metadata button, and import the IdP metadata via a URL or by uploading a file.
- In the Identity Provider metadata dialog box, click Submit.
- In the Create new SSO dialog box, click Submit.
- Click Save.
