Back Forward Designer Studio — Using the Tab bar

The Tab bar of the Designer Studio identifies currently open rule or data instances, the Instances list, and other displays. PROJ-242 GRP-7470
Tabs appear between the: Home Home Icon at the left and the Currently Open (Home), Refresh (), and Close () icons.

Click a tab to make it frontmost.

NoteYou can personalize the defaults and other settings of this facility through preferences. See Designer Studio — Setting your preferences.

Tabbing

Home For a tab that represents a rule, hold the mouse pointer over the tab to see the type, full rule key, RuleSet, and version information.

You can open multiple forms or other displays, each represented by a tab, up to the limit specified in the Maximum value in the Open group of Edit preferences. By default, the maximum is 20; you can chose a value up to 50. (More tabs may add to workstation memory demand and cause slower display refresh.)

As the number of tabs increases, the width of each individual tab decreases.

OpenTab Icons

The icon on a tab indicates the category of the rule or other object that is open.

Click to return to the What's Happening display. See Working with the What's Happening display. CLICKING OES NOT REFRESH

 Landing page
  Landing Page

Marks a tab that presents a landing page. See Designer Studio — Landing Pages.

 Wizard
  Wizard

Marks a tab that presents a wizard or tool page.

Category

Identifies the category of the open rule or data form.

Marks a tab that presents a work object form.

Currently Open

Click to list all currently open rules or other displays in a drop-down menu. Select from the menu to make that form or display frontmost.

Click to refresh the Designer Studio display.

Close
  

Click to close the currently open rule form or other display.
