Back Forward Archive gadgets

A Process Commander archive is a specially formatted ZIP file created using the Export gadget. It contains an XML file named with the handle of each instance. In addition to XML representations of instances, the archive contains a control file and may contain an installation activity.

Automating archive operations

You can automate ZIP file operations and run them on a schedule using the Product Migration wizard.

Command line operations

Advanced featureBy calling the export option of the prpcutils command-line utility, you can create ZIP archives from product rules using a UNIX shell script or Windows BAT file. You can find these scripts in the scripts/utils subdirectory of your Process Commander software distribution. See the Readme.txt file in that directory and the Pega Developer Network.

Notes

Each use of an archive tool is recorded as an instance of the Log-PegaRULESMove class. Errors are recorded as an instance of the Log-PegaRULESMove-Error class.

The prdbutil servlet,included with V5.X, is not available in V6.
