A decision shape on a flow rule references a

At runtime, the system evaluates the decision rule to determine how a work object progresses through the flow. The work object progresses along one of the connectors leading from this shape, depending on the outcome of the decision rule.

On the Diagram tab of a flow rule, a diamond shape () identifies a decision shape.

Decision shapes are similar to fork shapes, but fork shapes evaluate the when rules that are associated with the connector arrows, one at a time. Fork shapes never update any property values in the work object.
