Back Forward EDI

EDI or Electronic Data Interchange refers to the use of XML documents to support business-to-business messages for commercial transactions.

In North America, the ASC X12 standard (from the Accredited Standards Committee at IEwww.x12.org) is widely used in health care and retail operations. For example, X12 Format 837 is a health care claim message.

Outside North America, EDIFACT standards are used more often; a next-generation effort is known as ebXML.

Using XML Stream rules, Parse XML rules and correspondence, a Process Commander application can create or accept EDI messages.
