About Function Alias rules

Create a function alias rule by selecting Function Alias from the Technical category.

A function alias rule has two key parts, a class and a purpose:

SmartPromptSelect a class. Many function alias rules use @baseclass.

NoteTo create an SQL function alias rule, select or enter Embed-UserFunction. Specifying any other class creates a Java function alias rule.

Rule Name

Enter a name (often called a 'purpose' in Process Commander) for the rule. Begin the name with a letter and use only alphanumeric, ampersand, and dash characters.

 

Alias Type field

For all SQL function alias rules, and for most Java function alias rules, accept the default value of Other as the alias type.

The Alias Type field is provided as a convenience when you create Java function aliases for the following functions:

compareTwoValues() Compare two values
compareTwoValues() function with the parameters pre-populated with the selected property and the “equals” operator Is Property Equals To
dateIsInRange() Date within Date Range
