Purpose

03-04 C-601Use this rule to define and configure a connector to an Enterprise JavaBean on a local or remote system. The services are deployed as Enterprise JavaBeans (EJBs) within a Java 2 Enterprise Edition (J2EE) application server, such as IBM's WebSphere or Oracle WebLogic.

At runtime, the system locates the local or remote services and connects to them using the Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI) protocol.

Access

Use the Application Explorer or the Integration Overview landing page to see Connect EJB rules in your application. Use the Rules Explorer to list all Connect EJB rules that are available to you. To access the Integration Overview landing page, select > Integration > Overview.

Development

C-609 You can use an accelerator tool to generate classes, properties, and Connect EJB rules, rather than creating them one by one through rule forms. See About the Connector and Metadata accelerator.

To debug your application, you can simulate an EJB connector when the external system is unavailable or lacks a test environment. See Creating Connector Simulations.
