Attachment Category rules
Completing the New or Save As form

Create an Attachment Category rule by selecting Attachment Category from the Security category.

An Attachment Category rule has two key parts:

Field	Description
Applies To	Select the class that this rule applies to, typically a class derived from Work-. The classes you can enter here may depend on the RuleSet you select. On the Restrictions tab of the Class form, a class rule may limit rules applying to that class to belong to one of an explicit list of RuleSets. C-356
Category Name	Enter a name that is a Java identifier. Begin the name with a letter, and use only letters, digits, and the dash character. See How to enter a Java identifier. If you are upgrading to V5.5+ from an older version, you can also upgrade an existing category by entering its name in this field. Doing so provides the security capabilities available in this rule. Rule resolution

TFFT When searching for attachment category rules, the system:

• Filters candidate rules based on a requestor's RuleSet list of RuleSets and versions.
• Searches through ancestor classes in the class hierarchy for candidates when no matching rule is found in the starting class.

Time-qualified and circumstance-qualified rule resolution features are not available for attachment category rules.
