Identifying these rules and other elements can be valuable as you update harness, section, flow action and HTML rules to evolve the user interface of your application.

To turn on rules inspection

Four menu settings set or remove rules inspection. When these menu items are set, a check mark appears before the menu item. Select the Run iconAvailability to access the Run menu.

Working while rules inspection is on

Rules Inspector settings affect all work object forms presented after you turn on the settings.

To see the enhanced display for a form that's already displayed:

  1. Right-click anywhere in the form.
  2. Click the Refresh icon (Refresh or refresh) on your portal. (If this icon isn't visible, save your work and choose Refresh from the right-click context menu presented by Internet Explorer.)

Understanding the H, P, D, and A icons

Rules Inspector settings affect all forms presented after you turn on the settings. The enhanced display contains up to four types of icons:

You can use work object forms while rules inspection is enabled. In addition, you can identify the rules that make up a work object form:

Up Working with the Style Discovery tool

The Style Discovery toolbar appears whenever the Styles option is checked and a report display or work object form is visible. Select Availability> Rules Inspector > StylesBYRNB 2/17/10again to disable the Style Discovery toolbar. GRP-262

Up To turn off rules inspection

Using this facility slows your session; enable it only when needed.

To turn off rules inspection, select each Availability> Rules Inspector menu item again to remove the check marks.
