Find Rules landing page

The Find Rules landing page helps you easily locate and inspect rules in the system.

Access it by selecting the > Process & Rules > Tools > Find Rules menu item.

In the Criteria to find rules menu at the top of the landing page, choose one of the options:

• Recently Updated
• Recently Updated by Ruleset
• Find by Ruleset, Version, Rule Type
• Find by Circumstance

Recently Updated

Choose this option to see a list of rules updated today by any operator in any ruleset in the system.

Rulesets (excluding your personal ruleset) are grouped by ruleset version, starting with 01-01-01, and collapsed by default. Take the following actions to interact with the grid:

• Use the Expand All and Collapse All links to help you scan the list.
• Expand a row to see a list of ruleset names; each row includes a count of recently updated rules.
• Click any row (ruleset version or ruleset name) to drill-down to a list of rule instances.

• When viewing a drill-down of rule instances, you can additionally:
  • Click a header name to sort the column.
  • Click any row (rule name) to view details such as create time and circumstance definition.
  • Click Open to view the rule directly in the Designer Studio.
  • Click History to view a list of history snapshots in a new window.
  • Click Back to traverse up to initial list of ruleset versions.
• Click Export to Excel to download your current view to an Excel spreadsheet.

Recently Updated by Ruleset

Choose this option to see a graphical representation of rules updated today, organized by ruleset name. Three interactive panels help you isolate and understand results:

• Left panel — Use this bar chart to see the distribution of recently updated rules across ruleset names. Move the slider to scope results by ruleset name. Hover on a bar (ruleset name) to see a count of recently updated rules. Click any bar for more details.
• Right panel — This column chart appears when you select a bar (ruleset name) in the left panel. Each column represents a version in the selected ruleset name that has recently updated rules. Move the slider to scope results by ruleset version. Click any column for more details.
• Bottom panel — This list appears when you select a column (ruleset version) in the right panel. Each row displays details about a recently updated rule, such as the update operator and snapshot memo. Click any row to access additional options to open the rule, view history snapshots, or restore a previous version.

Find by Ruleset, Version, or Rule Type

Choose this option to find rules based on a specific field in the rule data, such as the rule type or create time. You do not need to know the exact value for a particular field. For example, you can find rules by name by only specifying a partial string and choosing the Contains condition.

Use the following controls to build your search criteria:

Click Submit to view a list of matching results. Navigation and supported actions for this list are identical to the results returned from the Recently Updated menu option (see above).

Find by Circumstance

Choose this option to see rules with a property, date property, or template circumstance defined.

Enter any known Search Criteria values to narrow down the list of returned results. Alternatively, leave all values blank to see a list of all circumstanced rules in the system. Click Searchto update the Results section based on the specified search criteria.

Each row in the Results section displays details about the circumstanced rule, such as the property, template, and value evaluated during rule resolution. Icons next to the rule type indicate if the rule is circumstanced by a date property or template. Hover on any row to see full circumstance details, because a rule may have more than one property defined. Click any row to open the rule in the Designer Studio.
