Internal rule

To ensure secure, reliable operation, certain standard rules are marked as internal, through the Rule-.pyMethodStatus property. These rules are executed when called but are not visible through the Application Explorer or other means. Ordinarily the existence, name, and function of internal rules is transparent or invisible to your applications and development work.

However, you may notice such rules indirectly, in these situations:

• As internal rules are also final, you cannot create a rule that has the same name (all key parts) as an internal rule. If by chance you try, the message This instance already exists appears, but you cannot view the internal rule.
• Using the Tracer tool, you can observe execution of an internal activity, but you cannot open the activity.
