Rule attachment

A rule attachment is a Windows file, such as a Microsoft Word document, an image, or a text file, that is linked to a rule. The attachment can be edited through open authoring. Rule attachments are saved as binary file rules, in the same RuleSet version as the rule itself.

Only a few types of rules support attachments, including Application rules and Application Requirements.

Don't confuse rule attachments with work item attachments or with custom fields.
