Back Forward Top-level class

A top-level class is an abstract class that has the ultimate base class — @baseclass — as its parent class, but is not one of the standard base classes.

Several top-level classes, known as base classes, are standard and are the basis of thousands of useful out-of-the-box rules. Other top-level classes provide little semantics but do group related classes and other rules.

During the installation process, the installer can identify a top-level class for the initial organization. This class provides a convenient parent class (in pattern inheritance) for all the other classes in your company or your applications. Through directed inheritance, the other classes can also inherit rules from the Work-, Assign-, and other classes.
