About the Update Manager Hotfix Installer

Basics

Hotfixes address general PRPC issues related to security, enhancements, and errors that may occur in rules and/or code. These are tested, documented, and published on the PDN on the Hotfix Self-Service page. All code and rule alterations to the standard version release are considered hotfixes.

The Hotfix Installer examines the inventory of rules and code currently installed on your system and compares the results to the contents of the selected hotfixes to be installed. This ensures that:

• More recent hotfixes are not overwritten with older versions
• The hotfix and system versions match
• Correctly-installed hotfixes are not re-installed

Starting the Update Manager Hotfix Installer

To start the Update Manager Hotfix Installer, click Select > System > Tools > Update Manager > Install Hotfix.
