An application is a business solution that is built in Pega 7 to achieve work flow automation.

Each application is supported by a Rule-Application rule that defines a ruleset stack, a built-on application, and configuration options, such as the list of available case types.

You can host multiple, unrelated applications in the same system. You can also migrate applications from one system to another. The application that is displayed when you log in is controlled by an access group.
