Message driven beans or MDBs are a Java Message Service (JMS) listener that can reliably consume messages from a queue or a durable subscription. The messages may be sent by any Java EE component — from an application client, another EJB component, or a Web component — or from an application or a system that does not use Java EE technology.
When PRPC is deployed as an enterprise application in a Java EE application server, JMS facilities work with MDBs.
Do not confuse message driven beans with MBeans, part of Java Management Extensions (JMX).
