PRPC uses Coordinated Universal Time (abbreviated UTC after the French-language words) in instance handles and in the name of XML files exported by the Export Archive facility.
Similar to the better known as Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) or Zulu time, UTC is time at the zero degree meridian that crosses through Greenwich, England. Using a twenty-four hour format, midnight is 00:00 and the minute before midnight is 23:59.
The UTC format includes punctuation. For example:
2006-06-30T21:47:04:04.447Z
The DateTime property type excludes the dash and colons but retains the period and letters:
20060630T214704.447Z
PRPC uses the date and time in the server (node) to compute UTC dates and times.
Technically, in scientific settings, GMT and UTC are different. For business applications in practice, they are effectively equivalent. For details, see Pega Developer article Issue: Avoid three-letter time zone designations because they do not support Daylight Savings Time consistently.
