Working with record lists
|
|
Record lists launched from explorers help you view all non-deprecated rules and data instances in your application. Use options in these lists to quickly refine results and switch to different contexts.
Using the Instance menu
Use the Instance menu to switch among lists of different rule types.
When you launch a list from the Application Explorer:
- The Instance menu appears in the format: [rule type] records in [class name].
- Select any rule type to see rules that apply to the specified [class name]. If you select a classless rule type, such as Application or Control, all instances in the system are listed.
- Select the Instances option to see all instances of the specified [class name].
When you launch a list from the Records Explorer:
- The Instance menu appears in the format: Instances of [rule type].
- Select any rule type to see rules that apply to the pxObjClass of the original [rule type]. For example, you can first launch a list of data transforms and then select the Data Model > Property option to see all properties that apply to Rule-Obj-Model.
Check the Include Inherited box to see rules in the selected [class name] and all parent classes. This option is available when a rule type is selected in the Instance menu.
Filtering results
Record lists are organized by key part and include columns with helpful information such as the last update time. Use options in the section to filter results:
- Applies To Contains — Enter a string in this field to see records with matching pyClassName.
- [Rule type] Contains — Enter a string in this field to see records with matching names.
- Run — Click to update the list with specified filter critiera.
You can also use column headers in the list to sort results and apply additional filter criteria.
Interacting with the list
Record lists are typically grouped into pages of 50 items. You can:
- Click a digit on the paging control to jump to any page in the group.
- Click Previous or Next to navigate between sequential pages.
- Expand a row to view additional record information.
- Click a row to open the record.
- Click Refresh to clear selected filter criteria.
Use the +Create menu in any record list to create a new record that applies to the specified [class name]. Deprecated rule types are excluded from this menu option.
