The Visual Business Director (VBD) HTML client
When you use the Google Chrome browser, the Visual Business Director launches as an HTML client. When you use other browsers, the Visual Business Director launches as an applet.
The Visual Business Director HTML client includes the following options and limitations.
Options:
- Auto-polling - The Visual Business Director uses this mechanism to poll the server for new data. The Refresh button in the top-left corner of the Visual Business Director HTML client indicates whether the auto-polling of the server data is enabled. When the button is blue, the option is enabled, no color means that the option is disabled.
- To enable or disable auto-polling, use the CTRL + A keystroke.
- To specify the frequency of polling, provide a value for the Pega-Decisionengine Vbd/clienteventpollinterval dynamic system setting. The polling interval is measured in seconds. The new setting takes effect when you relaunch the Visual Business Director HTML client.
- Panning, zooming, and rotating the scene - You can pan, zoom, and rotate the scene by using buttons, the keyboard, or the mouse.
- Dimension Filter - Dimensions are used in the Visual Business Director to construct the business view. The Dimension Filter enables defining customer interactions dynamically, using multiple dimensions. The filter works as a slider displaying the hierarchy of the different dimensions. The tree view shows the different levels up to the selected item.
- To use the Dimension Filter option, click the Filter button in the top-right corner of the Visual Business Director HTML client.
- Data Modes - These are different ways to show and compare the source and reference data sources. The Regular mode shows the source data source versus the reference data source. The Delta mode provides the comparison between the source and reference data sources which allows you to analyze their relative effects.
- To use the Data Mode option, click the Data Mode button in the top-right corner of the Visual Business Director HTML client.
Limitations:
- There is no context menu to capture the current state of the Visual Business Director HTML client to clipboard or file, save a view, or load a predefined view. These options are not yet available in the VBD HTML client.
- The Reference mode option is not yet available. It is only available in the Visual Business Director applet.
- In the Timeline console, the following data sources are not yet available as options in the Source and Reference lists:
- Actuals - MONTH
- Actuals - QUARTER
- Actuals - YEAR
- You cannot add multiple grids in the Visual Business Director HTML client. You can only use a single grid.
