From the System Operations landing page, you can view detailed information about the system and access system operations tools to manage agents, requestors, and data archives.
You must have the following privileges to view and access the System Operations landing page.
Role | Privilege name | Description |
---|---|---|
Observer | PegaRULES:SysOpsObserver | Can view all the available agent data. |
Administrator | PegaRULES:SysOpsAdministrator | Can view all the available agent data and can perform actions on available data agents, such as starting or stopping agents. |
System Administrator | pxSystemOperations | Can access new cluster information and node information pages and view the details of nodes in a cluster. |
Access the System Operations landing page by clicking Designer Studio > System > Operations.
The following functions are available for managing system operations:
Cluster Management
Provides information about all the available nodes in a cluster. You can view the details about the number of agents, requestors, users logged on to a particular node in a cluster, the node type, and the state of the node.
Node Information
Provides information about a node that you select. You can view detailed information about any node in the cluster by clicking Actions on the Cluster Management tab.
Node Classification
Provides information about agents, listeners, and their associated node types. You can map an agent to another node type and create a schedule for running an agent.
Agent Management
Provides information about the agents on a system, their corresponding rulesets, and their current status. From the Agent Management tab, administrators can start, stop, reset, or trace one or all agents. Use the Agents tab to start or stop the agent status. Avoid manually changing Data-Agent-Queue and Rule-Agent-Queue instances because this method can cause inconsistent results in the UI.
Queue Management
Provides information about system queues. You can requeue, remove, defer, view, filter, and sort items in the queues. You can perform actions on individual items or on the entire queue.
Requestor Management
Displays summary information about the requestors in the Pega Platform: Application, Browser, Batch, and Portal types. The tab lists all the active requestors in a specific cluster or node. You can manage requestors on a current node and remote nodes, for example, you can trace requestors, view performance details, terminate requestors, or profile a requestor.
Listener Management
Displays summary information about the listeners in the Pega Platform: Email Listener, File Listener, JMS Listener, JMS MDB Listener, MQ Listener types. The tab lists all the listeners across the cluster or in a specific node. You can manage listeners on a current node and remote nodes, for example, you can start, stop, restart, and trace listeners.
Logs
Displays a list of utility logs. From the Logs tab, you can also download log .zip files. You can view or download the current PEGA log, ALERTSECURITY log, ALERT log or other logs on the server node that you are accessing.
Purge/Archive
Provides information about the purge and archive utilities and a link to the Purge/Archive Configuration wizards. The Purge/Archive Configuration wizards enable you to automatically delete or archive old work item data to maintain system performance.
System Management Application
Opens the System Management Application (SMA), a web application that system administrators and developers can use to monitor and manage the resources and processes of Pega Platform applications.
