Steps in a process represent the tasks that users, your application, or an external application perform to move a case closer to resolution. By using steps, you can refine the life cycle of a case type.
The following tools support process steps:
Case Designer - Provides options to create and configure most step types.
You work in Case Designer when you open a case type from the Case Type Explorer.
Process Modeler - Provides advanced options in Designer Studio to create and configure all step types.
You work in Process Modeler when you open the underlying flow that supports your process. Steps in a flow are also referred to as shapes.
You can use different types of steps to control who works on the case, what kind of information is shared, and when processing in a case pauses or resumes.
