A decision data node consists of a Pega 7 Platform system augmented by an embedded Cassandra database process. Decision data nodes are clustered and capable of storing large volumes of data at high speed.
By creating a cluster of decision data nodes, you can leverage the Cassandra functionality to protect data from failure and provide horizontal scalability.
In a Pega 7 Platform system, a decision data node can make specialized decisions in real time. This solution enables you to take data from different sources and make that data available for real-time processing and optimized for batch processing.
Data is distributed randomly across decision data nodes in the cluster. For this reason, you can expect approximately the same increase in disk space usage at the same rate. If nodes run out of disk space, you must resize your node cluster infrastructure and add a node to the infrastructure.
From the Services landing page, you can access services and configure or manage decision data nodes.
